Hi All-

Curious to see what everyone is doing for Halloween and NYE. We experimented with a NYE event last year, and while it nearly gave me a stroke, I'm toying with the idea of doing another one...

I'd love to see if you all have anything planned, trade wisdom, etc..

Meetings & Conventions Magazine

Meetings & Conventions Magazine is a great resource for the events industry. The June issue features articles about the ever-changing Pharmaceutical meeting rules, Nationwide Insurance adding incentives back into their 2010 calendar, Green Meetings, "The Law & The Planner", and my personal favorite, "Social Networking Technologies Gather Steam".

According to a recent poll, 50% of planners say they use social networking. Of that, 74% use Facebook, 66% use LinkedIn, 56% Twitter, and 36% blog. Are YOU taking advantage of this?

Just a reminder to everyone that ALL OF YOU can post to this blog. Share your ideas, success stories, great recipes - anything!

Tyler at the Seattle Aquarium does a great job with posts to his blog. You should check it out at http://seattleaquariumevents.blogspot.com.

Welcome

So, I got to thinking about this blog business and thought...why not create our own little internal network! We can share ideas, brag about stuff we're doing, reach out for suggestions on upcoming events...you name it.

I've taken the liberty to upload a bunch of photos from each site. >> Please note that the Chicago Botanic Garden photos are not actually ours - they're staged. However, Kristina is working away at creating awesome events as I type!

Use this blog as a resource. Get to know your fellow team members. Post news about the exciting stuff you're doing at your account. New drink recipe...post it! Looking for ideas for an upcoming Gala...post it! (Get the idea?)

This is not meant to be yet another task you need to manage...it's meant to be a source of inspiration when your brain can no longer come up with a creative thought.
